Choosing the Color of Your Jewelry
The main reason most of us choose a particular color in jewelry is because we like it and it suits us, and those are very good reason to have. There are lots of opinions on what shades work well with different skin or hair colors, and it is possible to have your colors "done" to find out which color palette will suit you best. However, there are no hard and fast rules: feel completely free to wear what you like.

Be cold and experiemnt with color. Try choosing the jewelry with diffferent shades in the same color palette or choosing a strongly contrasting color to highlight or enhance another color. Look at many different designs and see how the careful balances of colors work to unify differnet elements.

Colors do have meanings associated with them, and these can be interesting if you want to have a very symbolic piece of jewelry. Many different cultures, faiths, and practices associate different colors with varying occasions, rituals, and symbolic status that it is impossible to list all the meanings here. However, there are various generally accepted thoughts on the influences of some colors.

AQUA: Mixed from blue and green, the aqua color palette carries wonderful properties from both. Refreshing and calming. Aqua is a light, strong color that is associated with peace and an open-hearted approach to the world.

BLUE: Another natural color, whether it be the blue of the sea or the sky. Blue can be strong and steadfast, or light and friendly depending on the shade. It is a soothing color and time will seem to pass more quickly under its influence.

BROWN: This color covers such a wide spectrum from bright rust to deepest chocolate that it is hard to see why anyone would think it dull, though it is burdened with this reputation. Brown is a natural color and represents simplicity, honesty, warmth and health.

GREEN: The color of life. Green symbolizes renewal, growth, and health. Restful and calming, green will soothe mental and physical stress, and convey harmony and stability. Find several shades of green together in a piece of jewelry to have a fresh and springtime feeling.

PINK: Feminine, healing, comforting, and affectionate. Pink is the ultimate girl color. From the softest pastels found in rose quartz to the hot pinks found in tropical flowers, pink is a natural color that can express the finer feelings.

PURPLE: A noble, spiritual color that is sacred in nature. Flowers such as violets and orchids are delicate and precious. Mixed from warm red and cool blue, purple and its associated shades of lilac, mauve, and violet carries some properties of both original colors. Purple can boost the imagination and hep creativity.

WHITE: White is sometimes seen as a "non-color" but nothing could be further from the truth. It symbolizes purity, sincerity, and precision. A feminine color, associated with the Moon, it can balance and enhance other colors.
